IPL 2018:Indian Premiere League Preview


It is a festive season when IPL arrives in India. Not just India , Entire world celebrates festive season of IPL. Like never before, International Cricket has hiatus during IPL season. So all International Play will participate in IPL fulfledgedly.

Almost every single board has given clearance to it players. In previous editions international players struggled with overlapping of IPL schedule and respective national Calendar. Players from West Indies and New Zealand revolted in this case. Few of their players have almost decided to give up their national careers. The only series that will be held in theses two months is between Pakistan and Ireland. None of those countrymen are part of IPl. So it wouldn’t matter.
Series between England and Pakistan will commence from 24th of May. Till the date, only two league matches would be due. England players who couldn’t get to play IPL have got their shot. This would a golden opportunity for them to prove.

Insights of IPL (Indian Premiere League)

  • Chennai is the only team to not change skipper im IPL.
  • Mumbai Indian is the Only team to win Indian Premiere League title on three occasions.
  • Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight rider have won the title on two occasions each.
  • Rajahasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Deccan Charges have one championship title each up their sleeve.
  • Royal Challengers ,Delhi Daredevils and Punjab Kings are yet to win a title in IPL.

Advent of DRS

DRS will debut for the first time in IPL. India board is reluctant to DRS in India until it is 100% efficient. Atlast BCCI has agreed to implement DRS in matches to be played In India. Each team will be awarded with 2 reviews in each of their innings.

  • Star network has bought the broadcast rights for 16000 crores.
  • IPL will telecasted in English along with five regional languages, Hindi, Bengali,Telugu, Tamil, Kannada.
  • It is heard that BCCI will pay 250cr to each and every franchise
  • Jaydev Unakdat is the costliest buy in the IPL, bought for 11.5cr.
  • Ben stokes is the costliest international player.
