IPL 10: Delhi in dire situation
Delhi Lost 5 out of seven games before in IPL 10. One more defeat can pull them typical situation where they have to win each and every game..Still Delhi once again disappointed its fans and franchise. They were destroyed in the hands of Punjab with bad batting and bowling. Sandeep Sharma, Punjab’s pacer, wrecked Delhi’s back bone with his swing. He picked up 4 wickets and conceded 20 runs in the four over’s he bowled. Varun Aaron and Akshar patel also picked up 2 wickets each and aided in Delhi’s demolition.
Punjab only took 7.5 over s to chase down 67 . Guptil completed half century in those available 67 runs to chase. Guptil tok 27 balls to finish his half century. He scored 3 sixes and 6 fours. He fireworks helped Punjab to increase net run rate ,which could come in handy in later stages of the tournament. Amla was also not on 16 runs.
Sensational bowling from Sandeep Sharma
Not only restricting Delhi in power play, Sandeep also took early wickets. He Dismissed England Import, Sam Billings, in the very first over of the match. Soon in the third over he also caused dismissal of inform Delhi player, Sanju Samson. Since then Delhi never took off. they lost wickets sporadically. Shreya Iyer also gave a return catch to Sandeep Sharma. At the end of Power play, DD only scored 24 runs but lost three wickets. Delhi’s fortunes didn’t not change ,even after completion of Sandeep Sharma’s Spell. AKshar Patal and Glenn Maxwell also didn’t let Delhi batsmen to unshackle.
Karun Nair, who is made captain due to unavailability of Zaheer, also scored only eleven runs. Pant(3),Morris(5) also failed to reach double digit. Rabada and Anderson avoided lowest score in IPl, Which is the name of RCB’s. RCB was dismissed for 49 against KKR in their 8th match .Punjab moved ahead and reached 5th position in the points table.
