Sydney thunder have opened their account in their fifth game of this year’s BBL campaign. Melbourne stars have faced their second defeat of this season against the defending champions. Sydney Thunders have won the toss and elected to bowl first at MCG. Thunder fans should be relieved for a win after their 4 losses consecutively.
Andre Russell injured while Sydney Thunder fielding

Their Marquee player Andre Russell picked up a injury while chasing ball. He left the field and never came back. It is heard that ,he won’t be available for rest of BBL season. At one point Stars were cruising towards 200,but good bowling at the death had restricted stars to 166. All the top order batsmen got starts, but only Kevin Peterson managed to score a half century. Fawad Ahmed was the first to put brakes on stars.batsman He rattled the stumps of David Hussey and Glen Maxwell. skipper Shane Wastson also picked up three wickets, Which included KP’s,which Shane Watson took a splendid catch of his own bowling. Mel Stars is latest to start the BBL campaign. They won their first match against Hobart. The lost the reaming to games. Kevin Pieterson, he did not participate in first game, is yet to taste success in this year’s campaign. He scored 50 in just 47 deliveries in yesterday’s game. They gave sixteen runs in the last over to lose the match. Thunder’s will have to win the rest of the matches to reach semi finals.
